28 March 2025, Taguig City - The Philippine Science Heritage Center (PSHC), under the management of the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL), successfully conducted the Meet Your Scientist (MYS) with the theme: “Women in Science, Engineering, and Research” at the Philippine Science Heritage Center, DOST Compd., Bicutan, Taguig City.

The PSHC’s MYS program aims to promote S&T to the youth and the general public. Renowned Filipino women scientists are invited to share their knowledge and experiences on the chosen topic. It also serves as a platform to encourage the youth to pursue a career path in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), and increase awareness of the young minds on the given topic, and celebrate the contribution and knowledge of Filipino women scientists.

Students and faculty members from Bangkal High School, General Pio del Pilar National High School, San Antonio National High School, Maximo Estrella Senior High School, and Makati High School - Senior High School attended the said event.
Insightful discussion and engaging open forum were remarked during the program with two (2) NAST PHL Outstanding Young Scientist (OYS) Awardees invited as resource speakers. These were: Dr. Jillian Aira Gabo-Ratio (Earth Resource Engineering) and Dr. Marla Maniquiz-Redillas (Civil Engineering). The program was also participated by Acd. Jaime C. Montoya delivering his opening remarks and Acd. Agnes Rola gives her inspirational message to the girls and women pursuing careers in science and technology. After delivering thought-provoking talks by the resource speakers, the platform was given to the Science Education Institute (SEI), represented by Ms. Sheryll Lee Sales, to showcase and give guidance to the students in their journey through the DOST Scholarship programs.

The event was truly a successful endeavor as students left the program with a smile and with knowledge that would be useful in their dream careers.

The PSHC has conducted MYS programs over the past years, tackling issues related to Climate Change, Health, and Earth Science, among others.
