The PSHC in partnership with the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) and the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office No. X, organized the Salinlahi Symposium Series (SSS) at the Luxe Hotel. The event was attended by around 300 students from different institutions within the vicinity of Cagayan de Oro.

The resource speakers with their topics were as follows:
  • Dr. Bernardo N. Sepeda, Executive Director of NRCP - “Role of Basic Research in Sustainability”
  • Dr. Aimee Lynn A. Barrion-Dupo, President of NRCP - “Role of Biodiversity in Sustainability”
  • Academician Virginia C. Cuevas, Member of NAST PHL Biological Sciences Division - “Stop Plastic Pollution to Attain Sustainability of Marine Resources”
The event succeeded with an insightful discussion as experts explored the challenges of plastic pollution and the critical role of basic research and biodiversity in promoting sustainability in our everyday lives.
 
The PSHC has conducted SSS programs in various regions over the past years, addressing pressing issues related to Agriculture, Health, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Management, among others.
 
The Philippine Science Heritage Center is a science center mandated by the Republic Act No. 9107 to be the main repository of the country’s contributions, achievements, and accomplishments in the field of science and technology.
